The sports and business worlds are in mourning following the tragic deaths of Sina “Evolve” Ghami, a pioneering sports rehabilitation specialist, and Mohammed Bello, a Lagos-based entrepreneur, in a fatal road accident along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State on Monday, December 29.
The crash occurred at the Makun axis of the busy expressway, claiming both men’s lives and sending shockwaves across professional and sporting circles. Ghami, a childhood friend and long-time rehabilitation coach of former two-time heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua, was widely respected for his innovative approach to athlete performance and recovery.
Over more than a decade, Ghami played a pivotal role in Joshua’s career, supporting him through training camps and cornering him during landmark bouts, including the historic 2017 victory over Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium — a defining moment in modern heavyweight boxing.
Ghami’s influence extended far beyond the boxing ring. Educated in the United States, including a stint with the Michigan State Spartans, he worked with elite athletes across the NBA, NFL, and MLB, including stars such as Draymond Green and Le’Veon Bell. In 2017, he co-founded Evolve Gym in Ruislip, London, a state-of-the-art facility blending cognitive and physical training, redefining modern sports rehabilitation.
Mohammed Bello, 32, a successful entrepreneur and close associate of Ghami, was also in the vehicle at the time of the accident. His death alongside Ghami has been widely mourned by colleagues, friends, and the business community, underscoring the profound loss of two influential figures in their respective fields.
Sina “Evolve” Ghami will be remembered not only as a rehabilitation specialist but as a visionary performance engineer whose expertise shaped the careers of some of the world’s most demanding athletes. The passing of both Ghami and Bello leaves a lasting void across sports, business, and professional communities.
