Chelsea in strong position to sign Doue in January

Chelsea are in a strong position to sign Strasbourg right-back Guela Doue during the January transfer window, according to Caught Offside.

The west London giants currently have Reece James and Malo Gusto as their right-back choices. They have been rotated in the department.

However, the club are aiming to add more depth in the role and they could seek to sign Doue from their sister club Strasbourg in January.

There is also interest from other elite European clubs, but Chelsea are in pole position to recruit him. He could be loaned back for the season.

The 23-year-old is reportedly valued at around £26 million. The Blues should have no problem in meeting the price tag for the right-back.

The Blues are also expected to focus on outgoings in January and they could seek new clubs for both Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi.

Both players are training separately away from the team. There is reportedly interest from the Saudi Pro League for the out-of-favour duo.
