Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has called on corps members posted to the state to emulate and build on the achievements of his administration across various sectors of human development.
The Governor made the call during the opening ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream II orientation course of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), held at the Temporary Orientation Camp, Bypass, Gusau.
In a statement signed by Aliyu Suleiman Gusau, Information Officer of the State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, the Governor, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Nasiru Galadima Kaura, assured corps members of his administration’s unwavering commitment to their welfare and security.
He urged them to deploy their knowledge, energy, and creativity in schools, health centres, and rural communities to make meaningful contributions during their service year.
Lawal expressed optimism that the new set of corps members would sustain and even surpass the positive impact made by their predecessors.
The Governor also highlighted his administration’s reforms and investments in the education and health sectors, noting the renovation and upgrading of schools and hospitals, the recruitment of medical personnel, and the expansion of rural healthcare services to ensure access to quality and affordable care.
He commended the NYSC scheme for its crucial role in promoting national unity and development and reassured that corps members posted to Zamfara would continue to receive their state allowances without interruption, with additional incentives for those serving in critical sectors such as health and education.
In his welcome address, the State NYSC Coordinator, Muhammad Ahmad Lawal, praised Governor Lawal for the prompt payment of corps members’ allowances and his continued support for the scheme.
He also appealed for further infrastructural development within the temporary orientation camp to enhance corps members’ experience.
