Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has confirmed the end of his relationship with Argentine rapper Nicki Nicole, putting to rest weeks of speculation surrounding their romance.

Yamal, who has quickly risen to become one of world football’s brightest young stars, revealed the breakup during an interview with Spanish journalist Javi Hoyos.

“We are not together anymore,” the 17-year-old said, addressing rumours of a messy split. “It was not because of any infidelity. We have simply parted ways and that’s it. Everything that is coming out has nothing to do with us. I’ve not been unfaithful or got with someone else.”

The young couple’s relationship had captured the attention of fans and media alike after being spotted together at several high-profile events and Barcelona matches earlier this year. Nicole was frequently seen in the stands at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, cheering Yamal on alongside other Barça stars and their families.

However, the relationship — which lasted less than a year — has now come to an end, with Yamal clarifying that the decision was mutual and free of drama.

The confirmation comes amid a busy period for the Spanish international, who has been dealing with a groin injury and is reportedly consulting foreign specialists about possible surgery. Off the pitch, Yamal has also made headlines for plans to purchase a luxurious mansion once owned by Gerard Piqué and Shakira.

Despite the breakup, the Barcelona forward remains focused on his football career as the club continues its push for success under manager Hansi Flick.
