West Ham United are keeping tabs on the situation of Manchester United duo Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee ahead of the January transfer window, according to David Ornstein.
The Hammers have had a dreadful start to the Premier League campaign and they are presently languishing 19th in the standings and face a genuine relegation tussle this time around.
Nuno Espirito Santo will be backed with funds at the turn of the year and the focus could be on adding more creativity. Mainoo and Zirkzee are mentioned as potential options for the club.
However, it is highly unlikely that they will secure a deal for either player. United have no plans of parting ways with the duo in January and any decision could be delayed until next summer.
Mainoo pushed for a loan exit last summer, but was not granted his wish. Zirkzee has joined the bandwagon of late amid his desire to break into the Netherlands squad for the World Cup next year.
